I'm definitely one of those people that gets bored of my wardrobe easily. As much as I love jeans and seem to have acquired so many of them, it does get boring wearing them all the time. I've jumped onto the vinyl skirt bandwagon and have been on the hunt for one for so long, but I'm so picky so it wasn't an easy task.

I finallllly found one in Topshop and I've absolutely fallen in love with it! It's so versatile and I've paired it with different combinations. It just seems to go with everything, tops, shirts and jumpers! Which is definitely a bonus in this absolutely freezing weather.

I particularly love the zip detail. It just adds a separation into the skirt so it's not all the same and adds a focal point to it. The pockets on the skirt as well as the lining detail at the top and the bottom of it really adds to what drew me to it. I had my mind set on vinyl and not just a leather-look skirt, but that definitely made it harder to find one.

It did take me a while to find it in my size. I first saw it in store in Liverpool but not in my size. I'm very slim and skirts often don't fit me well and just look too big, but I'm also 5"6 so I can't buy anything from their petite range, which is just so frustrating. After two months of trying every store I could, looking online every day, and then it going into the sale I pretty much gave up! However, it came back in stock in my size and I've never ordered anything quicker!

This is one of my favourite wardrobe staples at the minute and I don't see myself getting bored of this anytime soon! It just goes with so many different things and adds such a nice touch to what seems to be a boring outfit. I get compliments every time I wear it, so I'm definitely glad I bought it!

What's your favourite wardrobe piece at the moment?

After graduating six months ago I am so motivated to get my life together (after I get over the shock that its been that long already?!) I have a lot of career ambitions and as I apply for jobs I become more driven to pursue the career I want to. I read the job specifications and get so excited at the thought that I could one day be doing that job. To be perfectly honest, I've had a really shitty week which consisted of arsehole customers at work and lack of motivation, and it just resulted in a lot of crying. But tonight I just went for a drive on my own and sat by the sea, took a step back from everything, and just thought about what it is I wanted in life and how this one shit week does not define anything. It's just a bad week, that's all.

Since I was little I have absolutely loved fashion and beauty. I used to go to my Nans house and draw countless pictures of different silhouettes with different outfits on; labels attached explaining what fabric would be used (sometimes stuck onto the paper if Nan let me cut something up) and what make up and accessories would be used to ‘complete the look’.

I was going to do a fashion promotion course at college, but I pulled out at the last minute to do A-Levels instead because I was too intimidated of what the other girls on the course would be like – honestly one of my biggest regrets. However, at sixteen you do seem to have this image in your head that girls that study fashion will be bitchy and stuck up, and I just couldn’t bare the thought of spending the next two years surrounded by people like that (I’m sure they were all absolutely lovely girls!) I definitely doubted if it was for me during my first year of uni, but I think it was just because I hated my course. I completed a week of work experience at YOU magazine and absolutely adored it and that single week motivated me for the next two years to complete my degree so I could end up somewhere like there.

My boyfriend has been so lucky to get a junior job within the industry he studied at university. I am honestly so proud of him, he’s just getting paid to do what he does in his spare time! He’s a Junior 3D Visualiser, and he studied CGI at uni. He found out on our last day in Paris that he’d got it, so that just completely topped the whole holiday off.

After Alex getting his job, it’s definitely motivated me to keep going and to ensure I pursue a career in my degree subject and not settle for a job I don’t want to be doing. It would definitely be easier to do that, but I haven’t studied for three years to go into a job I’m not happy or passionate about. Fashion or Beauty Journalism would just be my absolute dream career and I just cannot wait to get a job within it.

I’m continuing to apply for jobs within the Fashion and Beauty journalism sector and have continued with my blog to continue with my writing. I love all things stationary, so after over two months searching for the perfect one, I’ve bought my diary for this year and it’s really helping me stick to writing regular posts (I did buy it just after the New Year, thank god.) I feel so organised and motivated, and I’m genuinely really excited to see what this year holds.

I am so lucky to have the people around me that I do, I have the most amazing friends and family it is unreal. My parents have always been extremely supportive of what I want to do, and I am so grateful for it. Alex is so supportive of everything I do and I’m so lucky to have found someone like him. I didn't even realise it was actually possible to be this happy with someone else (sorry for the cringe), but I just couldn't wish for anyone better. We are so supportive of each other and I'm so excited for all that we have planned so far, and to see what the future holds.

The absolute rock in my life is my best friend. I honestly could not ask for anybody better than Phoebe. We used to spend every waking moment together until our lives changed paths and we went our separate ways. But just because we went our different ways, it didn’t mean our friendship had to change, and if anything, we’ve only become closer. Even though she lives in a different country I can count on her, and I cannot even comprehend how supportive she is towards me, and can't explain how much I miss her. But hey, at least I've always got somewhere to stay in Spain.

I think the point of this blog post really is to just tell you to keep going. Embrace your support network around you: take a step back and realise those that are there to watch you prosper, and cut ties with those waiting for you to fail. Get rid of the negativity in your life. Don’t settle for things that won’t make you happy, and even if it takes a bit longer, keep going until you’re happy. Otherwise what’s the point? What is the point getting up every morning to go to a job you hate and allow it to make you miserable? That is not the life I want to lead, and I am so determined that I will get my dream career, no matter how long it takes. Keep going. When it gets hard, find your calm place, take a step back and analyse things. It will all be okay.

I seem to have developed an addiction to buying eyeshadow palettes, but you can never have too many, right? A couple of months ago I FINALLY ordered my first Morphe palette. It's safe to say I was not disappointed! I bought the 25B Bronzed Mocha palette, which is a mix of matte and shimmer shades.

I have numerous palettes and always use shades from a range of different ones, but this one has every shade I need in one! I've used this for so many different looks so far, from a smoky eye for an evening, or a subtle day look to a bold look by using the shimmer shades. I don't usually tend to use shimmer shades much as I prefer matte, so when I do I want it to be noticeable so always spray the brush first with a setting spray to make the glitter more intense.

Morphe products are such good value for the money: they're not expensive but the quality definitely seems it. The colours in the palette are so pigmented, so not a lot of shadow is needed to see the colour on the eye, unlike some shadows where you have to swirl the brush in a lot to get a little amount of shadow on the eye. Good pigmentation is definitely something I look for in an eyeshadow palette. It shows a good quality and means the product isn't being wasted having to build up the colour to match the one in the pan.

I've used this palette quite a lot already, but can barely tell by looking at it. The colours go so well together meaning a lot of different looks can be created! They blend easily together too, and I haven’t found them to go blotchy on the eye and just stick to one place.

Overall, I am so pleased I bought this palette! I was stuck between this and the 25A Copper Spice palette, but I'm so glad I went with this one. This is definitely my new go-to palette and I can't wait to invest in more Morphe products!

    What are your go-to palettes?

I really am not a fan of Valentine's Day, or most holidays come to think of it. I'm a bit of a scrooge, but hey-ho. I just really don't see the point in them anymore: they're all just a marketing tactic for retailers now. But I won't bore you with my rant about it: we'll save that for another day.

On the other hand, I do love a gift guide! More than anything I just use them for ideas of what I can waste my money on next. I love receiving presents as much as anyone else, so thought I'd try and give someone so present inspiration. Everyone loves being spoilt!

This year my boyfriend and I have decided not to give presents, and we're going to save our money for a holiday instead! So I'm hoping he actually sticks to that and doesn't get me anything as a surprise or I'm going to feel so bad and go out and panic buy loads of shit he doesn't need!

If you want your girlfriend to love you forever just buy her all the things below and thank me later!

On (what we thought) was our last day in Paris, Alex and I decided to visit the Yves Saint Laurent museum. I wanted to go so badly before we left, but on the way there I was reading the reviews online and was in two minds about it. We decided to just go as we'd done everything else we'd wanted to do, and I am SO glad we did. Admittedly, I do feel bad for Alex getting dragged along to various exhibitions and galleries with me!

We went early afternoon on a Sunday and must have waited ten minutes maximum in the queue - I was expecting a lot longer following the TripAdvisor reviews. The inside of the building was just as picturesque as the outside! It was only €10, so definitely worth it in my opinion!

The first room had a cabinet full of sketches, fabric samples and accessories to accompany the outfits. It was truly inspiring to see his designs come to life just along the hall and pictures in the cabinet of women wearing them. They are so glamorous and elegant with so much detail embedded in every garment.

The next room was honestly my favourite one: it was full of notepads, books, sketches, fabrics and different components. You couldn't look closely at all of it as there was an alarm so you couldn't go too close, which of course I managed to set off without even realising. The entire room was just oozing inspiration and the dreams of a designer. It was just awe-inspiring to see an dream become a reality, making him into one of the most successful designers there has been.

The detail in the designs was just amazing to see. Some of the garments were just covered in beautiful embroidered detail, and I just cannot even imagine how long it would have taken to produce. Throughout the museum was every sort of element there could be to an outfit, from beading to broaches, and jacquard fabrics to jewellery.

Afterwards I honestly just felt so inspired to make my dreams a reality, as cheesy as it sounds. I have a lot of career aspirations and after visiting the museum and seeing the amount of ideas and hard work that must have gone into the career of YSL to make him as successful as he was, it just reminded me of what it is I want to achieve.

I definitely recommend a trip here if you're in Paris, please ignore the majority of TripAdvisor reviews!

Have you visited here, or will you if you go to Paris?
